ANN V. CAPITAN
Clay sculpture with raku fired glazes
13 x 5.5 x 4.5 inches
This unique clay sculpture was made using the artist’s mold of life model April, an Alaskan Inuit.
Ann V. Capitan has been working with clay since 1987. Her raku fired sculptures are first fired in her home studio kiln and subsequently fired in a raku kiln. She experiments with a variety of glazes and finishes - in this case, clear crackle and surprise glazes on the body and the base.
