UPPER MARKET GALLERY partners with curatorial collective THE PLACE to bring you a special group show featuring 5 artists, local and from Scandinavia. Exploring what the notion of home might mean — how we try to get there, and where we make it. The word “home” can trigger anxiety or spark aleatory calm, depending on how it’s used. In our current precarious moment of mass migration and stagflation, the obscene cost of living, and the over-arching desire to belong somewhere, we might all suffer in some way from homesickness. This exhibition proposes the primacy of art-making as home-making.
